Lahar Farm is on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu in the middle of the North Island.

We are completely surrounded by the Tongariro National park offering the ideal hunting opportunity, for absolutely free ranging or managed deer hunting.Red deer are dominant, Sika and Fallow deer populations have great potential. Trophies shot or bow hunted are gold medal SCI standard with magnificent formation.

Hunting is offered to who want a lesser representation of the species or management cull hunts. Lahar Farm is sub alpine, sloping land covered in native forest with bush clearings, panoramic views of the Mt Ruapehu massif.  All hunts are guided. We also do green/ camera hunts.

The Ruapehu i-SITE Visitor Information Centre in Ohakune provides expert local knowledge and free, objective advice on travel throughout the Ruapehu region and New Zealand. The centre provides a complete reservation service for nationwide accommodation and activities, as well as car and campervan hire, ferry, train and coach passes and domestic flights.Retail items and souvenirs are also available at the centre.
